This house in Stanstead Abbotts, 77 High Streeet, (opposite Riverside), used to belong the Roman Catholic Church. A wooden hut in the grounds was used as a church for celebrating Mass. After the church stopped using the site the house was let out to a Mr Lovick but the house gradually fell into a poor state and became uninhabitable. Mr Lovick moved out in 1973 and the site was sold for redevolopement. (See next picture.) Photo 1983
